PRIMARY BATHROOM RENOVATION
Ms. Kodhima designed our renovations, featured on this site, for Queens, New York. The house is 1920s-style, and we wanted an update in keeping with that, but airier and more functional. She proposed alterations we'd never have thought of ourselves: opening part of the kitchen wall to the living room and enlarging the previously cramped primary bath by extending its space into that of an unneeded bedroom closet. She then created a series of 3D renderings to show us how it would work and added to that new wall and floor treatments, cabinets, fixtures, lighting, and so on. What we saw was perfect. And the end result is identical to those renderings. It also helped that we opted to work with a fantastic contractor she knew, who brought in expert plumbers, electricians, and tile experts to realize that vision. And -- understanding that we did not have as much cash as we'd have liked to work with -- they helped us keep all costs reasonable. We were so thrilled with their work that we have now hired the whole team to renovate our previously unused basement into a light, bright, extra floor of the house at large. We left the house in the care of Ms. Kodhima and the contractor before we moved it, and then lived in the house while they worked there for the last month or so of the process. Whether you are absentee or living in the midst of construction, you need people you really like and can trust. Ms. Kodhima is a lovely person, as is the whole team if you go with them. They came to feel like family. It's been a terrific experience, and we know it will continue to be so.
